Jing (video capture software)

I read about Jing in Robert Hoekman's excellent book, Designing the Moment, and found it amazingly useful. Among other things, it lets you create a screen grab video. I used it to show a bug I was seeing to the tech folks on a project I'm part of. Picture's worth a thousand words, for sure....it would have been much more time-consuming (and less effective) to try and explain this in an email.

Cassette From My Ex

This is a fun site about that emotional relic, the mix tape. True, it's mutated into playlists, iLike and more, but the magic of the Maxell XL-II, the dance between the pause-button and the turntable, and the final sonic-time capsules that were created, is just not the same on an iPod. The first tape I came across is a tape is by Claudia Gonson of The Magnetic Fields. And the best part...you can listen to the original tapes on the site.
